, Ph.D. is the author of The Joy of Knitting (Running Press, 2001) and The Joy of Knitting Companion (Running Press, 2003), as well as journal articles on the work of Edna St. Vincent Millay, Marianne Moore, and H.D. Her knitwear designs have been published by national magazines and yarn companies. She spends her days at Rosie's Yarn Cellar, the Philadelphia handknitting shop she established in 1995.


is the author of THE KNITTING TAROT, and of over twenty-five published and anthologized short stories. She has been a Fiction Fellow of the Pennsylvania Council on the Arts and has been nominated and shortlisted numerous times for the Pushcart Prize for Fiction (Best of the American Small Presses).
